We are proud to share that the results of MAINTAIN (our first-in-human clinical trialof EXL01) have been published in Nature Communications!

‍

MAINTAIN evaluated oral EXL01 in patients with mild-to-moderate Crohn's disease following corticosteroid-induced remission.

‍

Key findings:

— Notreatment-related adverse events

— EXL01 detected in up to 42.8% of stool samples during treatment

— Ileal transcriptomics revealed upregulation of energy metabolism and mucosal immune pathways, without broad microbiome compositional shifts

— demonstrating clear target engagement consistent with EXL01's mechanism of action

— Baseline systemic inflammation emerged as a potential predictor of response, informing patient selection for Phase 2

These results confirm that EXL01 reaches its target tissue and engages the expected biological pathways in humans - a critical step for a first-in-class livebiotherapeutic program.

Our Phase 2 randomized controlled trial is now running (NCT06925061) in Crohn's disease while we're conducting 4 Ph1/2a studies in Oncology with the same candidate.
